This has launched! We will now use the host-quoted time as the starting point for the wait time shown in the guest's link, when a host adds a guest to the waitlist. The difference between the host quoted time and the systems's estimated wait will be used as as a buffer and we will count down the wait time based on the estimated wait + the buffer.

For example, if your system estimated wait = 18 mins and your host quotes 25 mins at the time the guest is added by the host, we will add a 7 minute buffer (25-18=7) to the estimated wait within the link. The time will count down as the estimated wait decreases, but with the additional buffer added on top!
