Easier way to move reservation pre-assigned table

Make it simpler to change where guest reservation table pre-assignment is. We move upcoming reservations often to make more open tables available for walk in parties. Currently you need to go into the reservation and move the table. Would be better to do it in one step from the table screen.

A simple hold and drag on a table that has a single reservation to move that reservation to another table. During peak hours we are constantly moving reservations around to seat efficiently. If the only table available is set for a reservation in an hour, we will seat a walk in there and move that resy to another table that we know will flip within the hour. This becomes tedious having to find the reservation within the list, then go into reservation details and pick the table number.

We would like this as well. Maybe more of a drag and drop type of system from moving reservations as well as already sat tables.

Hi Ryan - Have you tried using the Timeline view? This view gives you the ability to long press on a party and drag reservations easily between tables, or into the bench at the top of the screen in order to find a new home for the party.
Note that we are also working on the ability for the app to auto-reassign upcoming reservations, when possible so that you don't have to manually do this. This should be ready in ~2 weeks.

sonora.braun@toasttab.com: We’ve tried using the timeline view but it takes more time to scroll through the list of tables to reseat them. TouchBistro is what we were using and the drag and drop to move reservations was very useful. But I LOVE the idea of a reassign reservation button based on walkins sat and turn times. That will assist our staff tremendously!

Ryan Anderson: Got it! Have you tried to put the reservation inside the bench at the top of the screen in Timeline view? This lets you scroll around to find new spots more easily and then you can drag the party out into their new spot and "confirm changes". See attached screenshot
We'll also definitely consider the ability to drag between tables for upcoming assignments a bit later in the summer - it's an interaction we want to make more streamlined. You aren't the only person to suggest it and it's a great idea!
